Monocrystalline (Mono) – the Nigerian Best-Seller

Mono panels use single-crystal silicon cells with 20–23% efficiency. They produce more power per square metre, perform better in low light and heat, and last 25+ years. Most of what CN9JA exports to Nigeria is mono, from 100W home panels to 450W commercial panels.

Higher efficiency matters in Nigeria’s hot climate: mono panels hold output better on hot roofs than poly panels.

Polycrystalline (Poly) – the Budget Option

Poly panels are slightly cheaper per watt (17–19% efficiency) and remain common in rural and budget installations. They need about 10% more roof space for the same output and degrade marginally faster in high heat.

They are still perfectly reliable – the choice is a cost-versus-space trade-off.

Flexible Panels – Niche but Growing

Lightweight, bendable flexible panels are useful for caravans, boats and curved surfaces, but they run hotter and have a shorter lifespan than framed rigid panels. They sell in small volumes in Nigeria and are not the right first container for most importers.

Recommendation: stock mono as your core range, poly as the budget tier, and skip flexible unless a buyer specifically asks.

Price Reference from Current Market

China factory prices run about $0.09–0.13 per watt for mono panels; in Lagos, a 200W mono panel retails around ₦70,000–150,000 and a 450W mono around ₦120,000.
